In a scene so calm and pleasing
You wouldnt guess my heart is teasing
Asking to go back to the past
Wishing to hell it could have last
The spark of one flower to you has build a forest in me
It grew green and strong with the help of your shining sea
The brush and shrubbery flourished with subsidence
And the branches reached out with eager elegance
Those vines have died on your heart
But mine still grow and pull mine apart
Along with them I must reap what you sow
I try to keep up but these weeds are in toe
Ill plow and burrow until I'm weak from despair
And right when you seem least to care
I think I catch a glimpse of sprouting life
But then its trimmed neatly away with a shinning knife
The vivacious patch could have been a garden
Dense and thriving but now my heart will harden
Your showers have been stolen by neighboring lands
These greens turn brown without the care of your hands
Your words demolish my trees into firewood
Lit by your carelessness as it smolders where you stood
The flames lick the wind and the smoke is on the rise
Burns in my heart and scorches the clear blue skies
Skeletal remains of what once was and could have been
Youd think I could move on to new grounds then
But these vines still flourish and curl
Right into the cracks of my mind they unfurl
The seeds of imagination crack open the longer youre absent
The weeds plant themselves in hard to reach placement
These enemies of my nature start to take over my countenance
And my arguments start to lose all common sense
I'm left withering and thriving with these wildflowers
Pretty but detrimental as my resolve it devours
To feed everything else I must feed it too
Its either kill the dream or let these weeds shine through.
